MAIN ROLE AND ACTIVITIES

  • Lead and represent the VAT China manufacturing site as the local entity head, serving as the management representative in all operational, legal, and regulatory matters.
  • Ensure full compliance with all safety, statutory, and environmental regulations, as well as VAT Group’s corporate governance and operational standards.
  • Collaborate with the New Factory Program Team to design, commission, and start up a world-class manufacturing facility, exceeding current productivity and quality benchmarks.
  • Provide regular progress updates to executive-level stakeholders on new factory setup, ramp-up activities, and key strategic initiatives.
  • Drive operational performance across key metrics including On-Time Delivery (OTD), Quality (Customer & Internal), Productivity, and Inventory Management.
  • Translate corporate and operations objectives into actionable site strategies that ensure robust, efficient, and sustainable production systems and structures.
  • Optimize production processes through Operational Excellence (OpEx), Lean, and Continuous Improvement (CI) programs to maximize efficiency, quality, and cost competitiveness.
  • Foster strong cross-functional collaboration across Engineering, Supply Chain, Quality, HR, Finance, and global interface teams to ensure seamless execution of business goals.
  • Maintain a visible leadership presence on the shop floor, engaging engineers, supervisors, and line leaders to build and strengthen connection, ownership, and continuous feedback.
  • Develop organizational capability to support production scale-up, new technology introductions, and process innovation initiatives.
  • Plan and manage capacity, ensuring sufficient internal and external capacity to meet future growth requirements and production ramps ahead of demand.
  • Oversee production planning and scheduling to ensure optimal utilization of resources and manpower.
  • Ensure adherence to ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, and Responsible Business Alliance (RBA) standards.
  • Lead New Product Introduction (NPI) and product relocation projects, ensuring prototype success, fast Time-to-Market, and new specification wins.
  • Assume full P&L accountability for both VAT China plants, including budgeting, investment planning, and operations controlling.
  • Drive productivity and cost-improvement initiatives to offset inflationary pressures, strengthen profitability, and maintain competitive advantage.
  • Develop theblueprint for next-generation production concepts to achieve benchmark performance in OTD, OEE, Safety, 6S, and other key operational KPIs.metrics.
  • Lead strategic and tactical projects in digitalization, capacity expansion, and quality enhancement.
  • Co-develop and implement Operational Excellence Programme, aligning local initiatives with VAT Group’s international production networks.
  • Manage and develop employees at all levels including temporary employees through structured coaching, training, succession planning, and performance management.
  • Promote collaboration across VAT Group’s international production network — particularly with other plants dan key departments including Global Supply Chain, Customer Order Management, Engineering, and Sales.
  • Lead and coordinate cross-functional local projects or programs to support the business and strategic growth objectives.

KEY EXPERIENCES

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline; an MBA or advanced management training is highly advantageous.
  • Minimum 10 years of senior operational leadership experience within complex, high-volume manufacturing environments, with a consistent record of delivery and performance.
  • Knowledge and experience in Mechanical Assembly, Vacuum System Testing, and Clean Room Operations will be highly beneficial.
  • Hands-on experience in vacuum systems, vacuum-related design, and high-purity process applications will be an added advantage.
  • Strong exposure to Lean Manufacturing methodologies, and well-versed in key Quality Tools such as 8D Problem Solving, FMEA, SPC, and other continuous improvement techniques.

  • Demonstrated P&L ownership, integrating strategic, operational, and financial perspectives to deliver sustainable growth and profitability.
  • In-depth knowledge of modern manufacturing methodologies including Lean, Continuous Improvement (CI), 6S, TQM, TPM, MES, and Industry 4.0 frameworks.
  • Proven success in implementing and sustaining Lean and CI programs, leading measurable improvements in productivity, quality, and cost efficiency.
  • Hands-on experience in new factory start-ups, production ramp-ups, and large-scale operational transformation initiatives.
