JOB SUMMARY:

The Logistics Manager is a critical member of the sales operations department and directly responsible for VAT US warehouse management and inventory. The ideal candidate must be a very strong business process-oriented person and act as a partner to peer functions, such as sales, account teams, operations, finance and service. The Logistics Manager must have strong leadership abilities and have demonstrated an ability to bring a matrixed team of people together from various levels and functions in the company to achieve a common goal.

 

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • Managing the integrity and accuracy of all physical binning activities for parts arriving into the warehouse (where applicable)
  • Responsible to maintain high accuracy of location and quantity of inventory via the current ERP system transacted by the Logistic Operations Specialist
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage both day-to-day operations and long-term strategy, while ensuring regulatory compliance
  • Maintain accurate inventory records through monthly soft inventory processes, and periodic physical inventory audits for all domestic warehouses
  • Ensure full compliance with global regulations, including hazardous materials handling, export / import requirements and industry specific logistics standards.
  • Be the main escalation point for all regional shipment topics and work together with counterparts at the global VAT facilities to resolve issues quickly and pragmatically.   
  • Manage a diverse team, including goal setting and team development plans.
  • Prepare and present executive level presentations, summary reports, spreadsheets, charts and analysis of data from multiple sources for internal and external use related to local delivery cost, trends and forecast.
  • Drive projects through to completion in a globally matrixed company.
  • Responsible for all transactional entries in the current ERP system pertaining to:
    • Goods Receipt for all incoming goods from factories
    • Adjustment of inventory via approved Stock Variance Adjustment Form
    • Continuous housekeeping of parts and location via current ERP system Warehouse Transfer menu
  • Undertake customs clearance activities (where applicable) and ensure short delivery lead time from port to warehouse or final destination
  • In some sales organizations, support and ownership for any other administrative duties may be required and will be communicated clearly.
  • Any other duties as required on project or necessity basis from the Regional/Country Sales Operations Manager

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or other related field required
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills and the ability to develop complex reports and metrics.
  • Experience in operations, order and inventory management including experience managing teams and developing direct reports. 
  • Experience in business process engineering and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Must have the ability to work in a globally matrixed team environment, work under pressure and adapt to the demands of a changing environment.
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Willing to travel both domestically and internationally, as required.
