General Summary


The Sales Leader will be responsible for leading VAT’s Sales and Marketing activities for a key customer account, focusing on business growth and achieving annual sales targets. This role requires strong leadership skills to manage the account team, foster a high-performance culture, and ensure alignment with VAT’s broader strategic goals.

 

Key Responsibilities
As Sales Leader, your key responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

  • Lead and manage the account team to achieve annual sales budgets and business growth objectives.
  • Create and maintain a motivated and collaborative team environment.
  • Ensure the team is equipped with appropriate personnel, skills, and training to support internal and external customer needs effectively.
  • Provide regular reporting to supervisors and ensure timely communication across the team and stakeholders.
  • Implement and support company-wide sales strategies.
  • Represent the Sales & Marketing function in cross-functional meetings and strategic initiatives.
  • Promote effective communication and information sharing within the team and across departments.
  • Oversee the resolution of customer inquiries in a timely and professional manner.
  • Drive continuous improvement in sales and marketing processes and standard work.
  • Ensure all team activities are aligned with the goals of the Sales & Marketing function, business units, and the broader organization.

 

Job Requirements

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical or engineering field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Proven leadership experience in B2B sales environments.
  • Native-level proficiency in Japanese; business-level English communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and face-to-face communication skills.
  • Strong ability to work collaboratively in team-based environments.
  • Experience in B2B sales, preferably within technical industries.
  • Willingness and ability to travel overnight weekly and occasionally overseas.
  • Strong multitasking and time management skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and general business software.
  • Ability to remain objective, calm, and effective under pressure.

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Extensive experience in the semiconductor, FPD, vacuum, or electronic industries.
  • Demonstrated success in team leadership and capability development.
  • Experience promoting technical subsystems or capital equipment.
  • Over five years of relevant sales experience.
  • Ability to integrate technical knowledge with marketing and business strategies.
