The highly advanced semiconductor industry relies heavily on vacuum processes and therefore, vacuum valves. VAT is the undisputable market leader and has a long history in developing vacuum valves for semiconductor and other industries, such as space and solar. Planning the operations and supply chain in such a critical company, with thousands of different unique products requires a good demand forecasting and planning, with high accuracy, transparency, and efficiency. The goals of this project include bringing market intelligence into demand planning, developing statistical and machine learning approaches for demand scenario generation, and improving forecasting KPIs. In addition, you will have the opportunity to use and understand the big business data of the company and have interfaces with various corporate functions such as sales, operation and business units. 





•    Carry out literature review and identify best practices in the use of market intelligence and ML in demand forecasting 
•    Understand, extract, clean and structure the relevant business and market big data
•    Identify the important business drivers, and their relation to the demand
•    Perform multivariate time-series forecasting, feature engineering, dimensionality reduction, classification etc.
•    Implement the findings into an automated tool and the business process






•    Studies in engineering, math, physics, business administration or similar
•    Strong analytical thinking, technical, communication and presentation skills 
•    Strong programming (Python) and machine learning skills, familiarity with Excel
