Electrical Development Engineer

 

We at VAT Group AG, headquartered in Switzerland, invite a both talented and passionate Electrical Development Engineer to join our Mechatronics Hardware Development team within the Corporate R&D department.
You will be responsible for the development of innovative electrics / electronics / mechatronics hardware solutions and their support throughout the entire product life cycle. The affected products primarily include control valves and motion components. In the future the area of ​​responsibility will even expand to the entire VAT product portfolio due to the increasing electrification of existing pneumatically controlled valve families. For this reason, we want to gradually develop this area further and strengthen the team accordingly.

YOUR CHALLENGES

 

  • Development of electrical assemblies (cables, heaters, position indicators, sensors, modules, etc.) based on the currently regulations (IPC/WHMA-A-620, EN 60204-1, EN 61010-1…)
  • Creation of the necessary product and production documents (drawings, schematics, test plans, etc.)
  • Accompany the entire development process from the concept phase to the released series product
  • Execute, assess and document initial sample tests of electrical assemblies
  • Development and support of product-specific control applications (e.g. Beckhoff)
  • Technical and economic optimization of existing products (value engineering)
  • Standardization of electrical / mechatronics products and assemblies
  • Coordination and implementation of product changes as part of the change management

 

 

YOUR COMPETENCIES

 

  • Completed training/studies in the field of Electrics/Electronics/Mechatronics with a focus on Hardware Engineering or Control Technology
  • Experience with MCAD/ECAD tools (e.g. Siemens NN, EPLAN) would be an advantage
  • Interest in teamwork in a dynamic development department with an international customer and supplier environment
  • Personal motivation and drive to achieve challenging goals and to set standards
  • Semiconductor industry experience would be beneficial
  • Fluent in English; German skills are a plus.

 

 

The Mechatronics department is a rapidly growing business area within VAT. Due to the increasing electrification of our products augmented mechatronics solutions are required. That was also the reason for combining the disciplines of hardware development, software development and systems & control in a joint Mechatronics department. Here, fundamental technologies are developed and standards are defined, which are subsequently used in the end products of all VAT business units. You will work with experienced product or project managers and implement the defined development projects or tasks independently or as part of a team. A strong organizational, process and administrative talent round off your profile.
