Role and Responsibilities:
As a Test Equipment Designer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the delivery of high-quality vacuum valves by developing and maintaining test equipment used for qualification and validation. Key responsibilities include:
- Test Equipment Development: Design and develop new test equipment to support laboratory testing, new product introductions (NPI), and mass production.
- Sustaining Equipment: Ensure the reliability of test equipment in the production line by implementing improvement plans to increase the first pass yield and reduce abortion rates due to test equipments.
- Change Management: Drive and implement design changes or upgrades to existing test equipment to enhance performance, reliability, and safety.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with production teams, product management, and R&D to align test equipment requirements with product specifications and manufacturing processes.
- Data-Driven Decision Making: Analyze test equipment performance data to identify and resolve bottlenecks or inefficiencies.
- Documentation and Compliance: Create and maintain comprehensive technical documentation for test equipment designs, adhering to industry standards and internal quality processes.
- Training and Support: Provide training and support to production staff and maintenance teams on the use of test equipment.
- Innovation: Explore and adopt new technologies to improve testing methodologies and ensure equipment aligns with future product trends.
Qualifications and Key skills:
- Educational Background: Degree or Master’s in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- Technical Expertise: Proficient in 3D-CAD software (NX preferred) and PLM systems.
- Skilled in using MS Office tools (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Soft Skills: Strong teamwork and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments and in a multicultural environment.
- Proficiency in English, both written and spoken.

Experience in project management with a structured working approach.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Familiarity with change management processes.
A passion for strategic thinking and long-term planning.
Special skills (such as special certifications)
- Knowledge to vacuum industry technology are a big asset.
- Experience in design and application of mechatronic components. (Motor, sensor, heaters etc)
- Experience in the production of the cast parts, sheet metal parts, injection molding parts, etc. will be value added.
- Person needs to be agile and creative, self-motivated and focussed to meeting customer needs
