The role of an Apprentice Training Center instructor is responsible for implementing the training of apprentices according to structure and curriculum for apprenticeship program (German Dual Vocational Training – GDVT), to meet talent acquisition and talent development and talent pipeline objective of the company.

 

Your responsibilities include, but not limited to: 

 

• Maintains close collaboration with all stakeholders (internal and external) to carry out apprentice program successfully. 
• To conduct training and coaching for apprentices as one of our talent pipelines, according to National Dual Training System (NDTS) by and fulfill all the requirements by the Department of Skills Development Malaysia (DSD), for apprentice to attain Sijil Kemahiran Malaysia (SKM) certification. 
• Fulfil German Dual Vocational Training (GDVT) and examination requirements by Malaysian German Chamber of Commerce (MGCC) for apprentices to attain the German Auslandshandelkammern (AHK) certification.
• Develops and continuously improves training curriculum based on organizational needs and bench-marking with VAT-CH apprentice center best-known practices to achieve parity. 
• Oversees the apprentice training programs associated with recruiting, onboarding, training curriculum, on the job training (OJT) and certification/re-certification of related processes.
• Develops tracks and monitors performance for apprentice training KPI and metrics.
• Maintains an audit ready (ISO, JPK and other audits) to comply with all regulatory requirements as a technical training organization.
• Recognizes and rewards apprentices to build engagement and reinforce behavior.
• Liaise with other departments to assign and monitor apprentice for on the job (OJT) assignments throughout apprentices training duration.
• Responsible for review of training evaluation/assessment and following-up with departments to create actions to improve/maintain results.
• Acts as Operations Learning and Development SME and collaborates with Operations leaders to create, develop, and refine the technical training materials (modules, SOP, Work Instructions, skill matrix).
• Operate, monitor, and maintain assets and equipment in the apprentice training center to ensure they are in optimum condition. 
• Any other duties as assigned by superior.

 

You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.

 

Minimum Qualification 
• Minimum Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical / Manufacturing )
• At least 5 years of working experience in manufacturing industry – CNC machining
• Experienced in performing CNC machining processes, CADCAM and metrology. Ability to prepare engineering technical specification and progress reporting. 
• Experienced as a technical trainer / teaching. 
• Possess good communication skills and ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees and external stakeholders.

 


Preferred Qualification
• Certified as a technical trainer.
• Certified in specific machineries and technologies.
