Your responsibilities include, but not limited to:
- Key contact person for after-sales service and repair at the service center.
- Coordinate daily service center activities including manpower arrangement, failure analysis, repair and rework, spare parts management, system updates, service lead-time adherence, and shipment coordination.
- Ensure all products requiring servicing, repair, or failure analysis (FA) are properly registered in the system without omission.
- Ensure all products follow the defined service workflow while maintaining standard practices to ensure productivity, quality and safety.
- Setup, sustain and continuously improve service center workplaces, ensuring adequate support in tools, equipment and facilities to execute rework and repair activities.
- Coordinate product receiving and outgoing arrangements with the respective parties and customers.
- Ensure all products are accompanied by a decontamination form before parts arrive at VAT-Malaysia.
- Update the service staff skill matrix from time to time.
- Train service technicians on new product knowledge and skills.
- Ensure sufficient equipment, tools, jigs and fixtures, test flanges, etc. are available to perform daily service and repair activities.
- Guide service technicians on FA and replication activities for customer-related feedback and complaints.
- Perform servicing of vacuum valves and valve components with timely delivery, required quality, and reasonable cost (within planned cycle time).
- Perform functional leak tests in accordance with specifications; troubleshoot and resolve leak or functional failures during the test process.
- Perform final inspection and customized packaging for shipment.
- Actively participate in continuous improvement and maintain 5S at the workplace to improve productivity and safety.
- Perform timely maintenance on equipment, devices, jigs, and fixtures according to schedule.
- Maintain optimum stock levels at the service center to meet demand and delivery requirements.
- Set up and handle equipment, jigs/fixtures, and parts using the correct programs and parameters for service assembly, testing, and packaging processes.
- Maintain accurate information in D365 (e.g., inventory, cost, quality, delivery lead time) through correct data entry and timely transactions.
- Perform tasks according to procedures and work instructions.
- Provide timely records and accurate reports on service status, especially departmental KPIs.
- Report and coordinate with the superior on quality issues, parts/component availability (shortages), and any critical delivery timeline risks.
- Provide on-site servicing or technical support to customers when required.
- Perform any other duties as assigned by the superior.
Key Competencies and Skills
- Degree in Mechanical or Mechatronic Engineering, or equivalent qualification.
- Preferably a minimum of 5 years’ experience in similar vacuum valve servicing processes.
- Preferably possesses knowledge in leak testing, store min/max maintenance, and material handling/kitting.
- Excellent customer service and problem-solving skills.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to quality.
- Ability to work well under deadlines and manage multiple tasks.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with Dynamic D365 MRP system will be an added advantage.
