The Machining Production Team Leader is responsible for leading day-to-day manufacturing operations through Supervisors and Production Engineers. This role ensuring Safety, Quality, Delivery, and OEE targets are consistently achieved. The position also requires strong people leadership, operational discipline, and hands-on problem-solving in a high-precision CNC machining environment.
Principle Duties & Responsibilities
Your responsibilities include, but not limited to:
- Responsible for creating and executing preventive, predictive and corrective maintenance plans to ensure the availability and reliability of equipment.
- Lead a team of maintenance technicians in carrying out daily maintenance task and manage equipment down time escalation. Trigger external service provider as needed.
- Primary contact in dealing with external Equipment vendor to carry out assigned task or resolving problems.
- Identify, develop and implement solutions to improve equipment availability, reliability and cost.
- Responsible for maintaining records and documenting of knowledge, skill, procedures, schedules, repair logs and equipment performance metrics as necessary.
- Ensure adequacy of spare parts, equipment and service from external provider are available when needed.
- Ensure QMS, EMS and EHS policies and procedures are carried out and maintained.
- Understand all relevant VAT Malaysia policies and procedures, provide training and briefing to maintenance technicians as needed.

- Ensure accurate workforce deployment and machine capacity arrangements
- Optimize production utilization and prioritization
- Plan and organize training, competency development and employee development measures
- Facilitate problem-solving processes and promote continuous improvement activities
- Ensure compliance with all quality and safety standards
- Own and drive OEE improvement across CNC lines
- Work closely with Quality, Planning, Maintenance and Production Engineering
- Oversee readiness and execution of NPI, process changes and production ramp-up activities
- Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, discipline and continues improvement among the team
- Provide regular updates to management and monitor the assigned KPI’s
Minimum Qualification
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field preferred. Equivalent experience will also be considered.
- Experience in CNC machining, with at least 5 years in a machining industry.
- Technical Minimm 2-3 years in a leadership role (Senior Supervisor/ Lead Engineer).
- Good Knowledgable of machining principles, tooling, and materials.
