The Operational Excellence Engineer is responsible for providing support to all departments by governing, training, coaching, driving & leading continuous improvement activities that involve management, engineers, executives, operators and vendors

 

Your responsibilities include, but not limited to:

 

  • Responsible for providing support to all departments by teaching, training, and leading continuous improvement activities that involve management, engineers, executives, operators and vendors.
  • Evaluate challenges and offer solutions that add value and contribute to the company’s overall success.
  • Create vision, strategy and goals, acting as a champion to achieve a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence
  • Promote and lead activities that identify all forms of waste (as defined by lean methodologies) through various techniques including: Value Stream Mapping, Gemba Walks, 5-Why/Cause Mapping , A3 and Kaizen
  • Promote the value and adoption of “best practices” by all Sister Plants. Create opportunities to share best practices between Sister Plants.
  • Partner with employees and the management team to develop Operational Excellence methodologies that focus on improving quality, productivity, labor, and cost saving efficiencies.
  • Driving and leading Six Sigma projects which involve setting up SPC, DOE, and other statistical tools.  
  • Assist in executing strategic performance analysis, gap assessment, opportunity identification and change implementation for critical processes across the organization, to deliver a scalable and sustainable best in class operations environment for the organization.
  • Facilitate cross-functional initiatives for mapping process flow, gathering and analysing process data to identify root cause problems, identifying areas of process improvements, and use of process techniques to develop solutions to improve and enable measurable results in process efficiency, customer satisfaction, product quality that drives higher productivity and an increase in profitable growth. 
  • Develop external benchmarking, industry best practice identification, evaluation, and adoption plans 
  • Develop KPI dashboard and drill down for transparency.
  • Active team player, cooperative, unselfish, Thinks company-wide, not departmentally, who can work easily and synergistically with other functional departments 
  • Ability to effectively interpret and communicate and articulate details, into concise and understandable facts, numbers, and actionable items 
  • Effective team leadership and communication to enable transformation of cultures
  • Effective liaison with the other departments (Locally & Globally)
  • Any other duties as assigned by superior

 

 

Minimum Qualification:

 

  • Degree in Engineering (preferably industrial engineering) field with 5 years working experience in manufacturing.
  • Work in similar capacity in relevant field with min 3 years of experience
  • Must be a certified Lean six Sigma Green Belt. Must have strong background in Six Sigma and familiar with Statistical Process Control (SPC) experience
  • Must be familiar with Minitab/JMP software or other statistical software
  • Black belt certified is highly preferable
  • Possess a strong working team mindset   
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Structured, holistic and systematic approach
  • Effective trainer
  • Proactive and willing to learn.
  • Excellent analytical skills - the ability to assimilate and analyse base data and provide commercially sound and viable business solutions. 
  • Possess working cross functionally skills, analytical and problem-solving skills

 

 

Preferred Qualification:

 

  • FMEA, 8D, SPC, SMED, Capacity analysis, VSM
