The Metrology Manager will lead and mentor the Metrology department, driving continuous improvement initiatives, training programs, and the adoption of best practices. The role emphasizes achieving key performance indicators, fostering a preventive mindset, and ensuring customer and product quality standards are met, all while upholding VAT's core values of Integrity, Teamwork, Customer Centricity, and Innovation.
Your responsibilities include, but not limited to:
- Lead the Metrology department in terms of technicality and Management.
- Create and presents trending metrics reports on metrology key KPIs.
- Develop Quality Improvement Strategies and Targets that support well the company goals.
- Prepare and analyse Operation Quality performance for Continual Improvement Strategy Planning, using PDCA approach.
- Subject Matter Expert (SME) regarding to measurement, SPC, and data analytics within Metrology role.
- Identify and analyse issues, defects and other problems, particularly when problems recur in multiple products, recommends and facilitates solutions to prevent recurrences of these issues.
- Ensure out of control situations are managed effectively through a well-defined Out of Control Action Plans (OCAP)
- Overlook and manage all Metrology/Inspection Equipment.
- Develop and use measurement methods and equipment to determine the dimension features of products conform to the design features.
Minimum Qualification:
- 8 to 15 years in Metrology or Machining Field
- Possess minimum Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical / Electronic Engineering, Mechanical – Manufacturing Engineering
Preferred Qualification:
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering
- Experience with CMM programming software such as Mcosmos, PC-DMIS, Calypso, etc
- Knowledge in 3D modelling CAD design, manufacturing and machining process of jigs & fixtures (CAD/CAM)
- Knowledge in Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance (GD&T) and Management System Analysis (MSA)\
- Profound knowledge on Statistical Process Control (Cpk, Ppk and SPC)
- QMS, ISO 9001, Quality fundamentals (Problem solving, DMAIC,FMEA)
- ISO 1101 & ASME Y14.5 certification or knowledge an added advantage.
