General Summary

We are searching for enthusiast self-starter to join our graduate trainee program. The graduate trainee program provide university graduates the opportunities to gain valuable industrial practical knowledge in the application of precision cleaning – systematic removal of contaminants (particle, dirt, fibres, oil & grease, impurities) to exact standard of very low level of impurities.

Semiconductor electronic properties are extremely sensitive to the presence of trace amounts of foreign substances. From the dawn of semiconductor based electronic devices, it has been clear that undesired impurities must be kept at very low levels and material purification methods were essential to the successful operation of such devices. As industry supporting semiconductor fabrication, manufacturing of high purity part through precision cleaning has become a core competency of VAT.

As a trainee, you will be exposed to work with advanced automated cleaning system designed for semiconductor to achieve highest standard of cleanliness. You shall be able to grasp and understand the key in-process monitoring parameters to make such cleaning possible and sustainable including all the necessary supporting system and environment. Additionally, you will be responsible for contamination control starting from the source of raw materials to the final products beside the necessary cleaning and the development of cleaning program: chemistry, physics (temperature), cleaning mechanism and time factors to achieve customers cleanliness specifications.

Your responsibilities include, but not limited to:

• To support manufacturing relating to process improvement so that it contributes towards the profitability & sustainability of the company.
• Review and improve on processes and procedures (handling equipment) and ensures that operators are kept updated of any changes
• Call for support from other functions as required
• Initiate and recommend corrective and preventive actions
• Ensure the established safe work practices for individual tasks with known risks of injury or illness immediately report injuries, near misses incidents, unsafe act and unsafe conditions to EHS personnel and immediate supervisors.
• To ensure all practices are adhere to the company environmental, quality and health & safety policy at all times.
• To provide accurate, reliable test results or data analysis to strengthen the statistical back up in all relevant projects & department activities.
• To undertake specific projects as assigned
• Responsible to carry out all development works assigned by the supervisor.
• Evaluate and analyze process data to improve quality and yield (troubleshooting).
• Assist in process development activities including new cleaning process & machine qualification based on product/process requirement from customer.
• Execute assignments given and report on progress.
• Carry out and follow-up on study protocol.

Minimum Qualification

• Postgraduate (Masters or PhD) of local/ overseas institution with minimum cumulative CGPA 3.00 or second class upper or equivalent during bachelor’s degree.
• Chemistry/ Material Science/ Physics disciplines are preferred
• Good team player
• Strong observation & analytical skills
• Interested in the field of process & equipment analytical towards optimization
• Pragmatic solution-oriented
• Good command in English and local language

Preferred Qualification

• Surface science
• Chemistry of surfactant & acid etching (Aqueous Cleaning)
• Deionized Water/Ultra-Pure Water applications
• Surface preparation and analytical techniques
• Understanding of Design of Experiment (DOE) is an added advantage.
• Able to read technical drawings (optional)
