We are looking for a Design Engineer (Mechatronics) to join our team to in charge of product controller design and customization. The candidate will also be a subject expert and responsible to all tasks related to product controller for best practise in the department of Product Engineering.
The role requires outstanding controller, drive, product troubleshooting knowledge, design organization, communication, and an ability to develop innovative solutions that push boundaries. Success in this role is dependent on design validation, design improvement of current product standards, strategic cross team support execution, customer satisfaction in-and-external, organization/people development.
Principle Duties & Responsibilities:

Responsible for the Industrialization-design of new developed or re-designed products produced in Malaysia and supporting design related activities throughout the product life cycle of selected valve series.

Responsible for the controller components (electrical & electronic hardware as well as the software & parameter file) in a new product development such as stepper/servo motor, encoder, position indicator, wiring board, drive parameter, configuration file and so on.

Controller customization which includes the bill of material (BOM) preparation and the software package preparation.

Support production in electrical & electronic hardware and software topics.

Support field application engineering for the mechatronic issues from customers.

Collaboration with test lab in product qualification, measurement, and testing.

Troubleshoot problems related to electrical components and product software.

Communication interface to related departments in HQ for all questions concerning electrics & electronics and product software.

Optimize products in collaboration with HQ mechatronic engineers.

Support customers together with product management and mechanical engineers.

To be responsible in documentation of findings, specifications, designs, and instructions of procedures.

To exercise expertise in supporting VAT global competence community initiatives to build and sustain core competencies.

Support daily tasks assigned by management from time to time.
Minimum Qualification :
-
Minimum Masters/PhD of Engineering in the Electrical / Mechatronics, or similar.

Must be able to read and understand circuit diagrams & electrical drawings.

Skills MS-Office tools (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

Able to work in a team and possess good communication skills in English.

Strong analytical skills & Solution-oriented.

Organized, self-driven, independent, result & customer oriented.
Preferred Qualification:
-
Knowledge to vacuum industry technology is a big asset.

Experience in automation equipment would be an advantage.

Knowledge and hands on troubleshooting experience in automation engineering, familiar with Stepper-BLDC and Servo Drives, motion controller, communication protocols (RS232, EtherCAT, DeviceNet, Logic, Profibus) and so on.

Knowledge in LabView, Beckhoff, Python, C# or PLC programming.
