We are looking for an Equipment Project Engineer to lead end to end equipment and automation projects supporting new product launches, capacity expansion, and continuous improvement initiatives. This role plays a critical part in ensuring equipment, processes, and production lines are ready for mass production with optimal performance, quality, safety, and cost efficiency.

 

Your responsibilities include, but not limited to:

New Product Introduction (NPI) & Production Readiness

• Develop and industrialize processes for new product launches, including setup of machines, equipment, tooling, jigs, fixtures, and facilities.

• Plan and execute machinery acceptance activities (FAT / SAT) prior to mass production release.

• Ensure line and process readiness through risk assessments, work instructions, inspection standards, and control plans.

Equipment & Technology Engineering

• Provide technical expertise in equipment selection, technology evaluation, and technical design specification.

• Support development and execution of equipment technology strategy and roadmap.

• Lead installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting to ensure optimal equipment performance, efficiency, reliability, and safety.

Equipment Project Management

• Prepare equipment project proposals including scope, timelines, milestones, budgets, and investment analysis.

• Manage end to end execution of equipment projects by coordinating with internal stakeholders and external suppliers.

• Track project progress, risks, cost, and deliver regular updates to management.

Process, MAE & Manufacturing Tooling Development

• Lead development and modification of process, machinery, automation & equipment (MAE), and manufacturing tooling.

• Design workstations, production lines, and operator flow with focus on productivity, ergonomics, safety, and scalability.

• Ensure solutions meet defined specifications, quality standards, and performance requirements.

Lean Manufacturing & Continuous Improvement

• Drive lean line design initiatives to optimize floor space, improve material/operator flow, and eliminate waste.

• Collaborate with process engineering, maintenance, and suppliers to improve equipment reliability, efficiency, OEE, and yield.

Capability, Quality & Sustainability Assurance

• Conduct machine and process capability studies for new product launches.

• Establish long term process capability monitoring through SPC, sampling plans, and TPM standards.

Global Collaboration & Standardization

• Work closely with Global Technology Center and cross site teams on automation projects and site to site technology transfer.

• Drive standardization of equipment platforms, control systems, and engineering documentation across global sites.

Digitalization & Smart Manufacturing

• Support digital transformation initiatives such as smart manufacturing, equipment data integration, and predictive maintenance.

Safety & Compliance

• Ensure all equipment design, installation, and operation comply with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and safety guidelines.

Other Duties

• Perform additional tasks and responsibilities as assigned by the Supervisor / Management, in support of business, operational, and organizational objectives.

 

You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.

• Minimum a B.Sc. Engineering in the Mechanical & Mechatronic Engineering

• Minimum 5 years working experience in milling machining operation, assembly automation integration project coordination, installation & machine validation activities.

• Proven experience in assembly automation, robotic systems, and manufacturing process integration.

• Experience with lean manufacturing principles and line balancing.

• Global project exposure or multi-site coordination preferred.

• Ability to prepare engineering technical specification and progress reporting.

• In depth knowledge vacuum technology, helium tester, robotics & automation technology will be advantages.
