EHS Manager

VAT Malaysia Sdn. Bhd., a leading global manufacturing company within the VAT Group, is seeking an experienced and dedicated EHS manager, overseeing and managing the Environmental, Health, and Safety aspect. Principle Duties and Responsibilities:

• Ensures fiduciary risks are managed through the company and maintains leadership, expertise and optimizes Occupational Safety within the VAT group.
• Maintains leadership and EHS expertise and supports plant management teams as well as the service and sales centers across the company.
• Collaborate with all levels in the organization to build safety culture.
• Drives and ensures compliance with Group management systems and any country-specific requirements within the area of responsibility. Keeping up to date with latest regulations and best practices in health and safety.
• Ensures that occupational safety capabilities are optimized and aligned to standards, processes, guidance, and best practices.
• Support RBA and site sustainability topics.
• Drives behavioral change through the local implementation of Group-wide and business-specific performance improvement programs and practices. 
• Identifies, plans and initiates training needs, e.g. for employees, site managers.

Minimum Qualification (mandatory):

• Certified Safety & Health Officer (SHO/Green Book)
• DOE Competent Person for scheduled waste management
• 5+ years of relevant specialized experience in a global company, manufacturing environment (preferred)
• Experience as a health and safety coordinator.

• Team player, self-motivated, goal-oriented, flexible, with the ability of motivating people and self- motivation, consistency, reliability.
• Strong relationship-building, facilitation, and influencing skills; ability to build trust among those with diverse personal styles.
• Excellent communication and project management skills
• Experience & understanding of occupational health and safety regulations as well as EHS risk evaluations applicable to the manufacturing industry.

Preferred Qualification:

• Bachelor's degree (B.Sc.) in in safety management or similar field
• Familiar with ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 Management System and Corporate requirements.
• Knowledge and/or experience in social standards: Responsible Business Alliance (RBA) and Sustainability topics (preferred).
