Cost Accountant

We are looking for a Costing Accountant to join our team to perform product costing and promote cost management, to support business performance and budget control, to drive and promote financial/costing integrity partner with local operation and global finance team.
Reporting directly to Controlling Manager, you will work closely with cross-functional stakeholders across the company to achieve cost & other KPIs plan to meet company EBITDA goal. You must have the ability to work independent and require lead/work within diverse multi-functional teams, using deep knowledge of the category to drive improvements in cost and meeting operational goals.
The role requires solid knowledge of business principles and best practices to ensure sustainability of business, also able to drive continuous performance improvement. Good knowledge of financial concepts and business acumen with D365 experience will be add advantage.
Role and Responsibilities:
- Perform Costing and Promote Cost Management
- Maintenance of cost accounting system
- Gather, analyse and summarize cost data
- Understanding of cost structures/ drivers and translate into a meaningful action plans to drive cost improvements.
- Liaison with internal/external customers and take necessary decision/ ownership relating to financial information.
- Create visibility, coherent and common cost transparency/ best practices.
- Review and monitor on CAPEX project justification and spending plan
- Support business performance & Budget Control
- Monitoring a factory and business cost drivers through KPIs, trends and benchmarking.
- Analyse variance reports and ensure periodical reviews and support factory management on decisions of corrective actions, monthly and weekly based on variance reports by plant.
- Challenge the production & other function whenever there is a huge variance comparing the commitment during budget.
- Monthly review with HQ for variance reporting & Cost saving project.
- Involvement with factory initiatives via cost improvement projects.
- Assist HOD/Cost Center Owner during budgeting process and necessary support.
- Actively involved in any daily, weekly & monthly meeting organise by manufacturing operations to understand operation function & issue and provide necessary solution or suggestion.
- Frequently visit production floor to observe and provide operation improvement that could be done to improve or reduce manufacturing cost in term of cycle time, yield, labour and etc.
- Financial & Costing Integrity
- Apply clear definition of responsibilities around data integrity and accuracy at source including check and analyse General lager (GL) reporting impact for manufacturing overhead.
- Ensure proper maintenance of Database Management.
- Perform quarter costing roll up exercise for machine centre and work centre.
- Perform monthly Net Realisable Value (NRV) and reflect into the systems.
- Ensure costing processes and best practices are in place.
Minimum Qualification
- Bachelor’s Degree/ Master’s degree or professional qualification in Accounting/Finance or related discipline.
- Minimum 5 years (Senior) of experience in costing calculation, analysis and control managerial capacity, preferably in manufacturing costing experience in a multinational manufacturing industry or supply chain environment
Preferred Qualification
- Bachelor’s Degree/ Master’s degree or professional qualification in Accounting/Finance or related discipline.
- Minimum 1 - 3 years of experience in costing calculation, analysis and control managerial capacity, preferably in manufacturing costing experience in a multinational manufacturing industry or supply chain environment.
- Fresh graduation is encourage to apply
- Good knowledge of financial concepts and principles and business driven.
- Strong proficiency in Excel
- D365 knowledge and experience is added advantage.
