Role Overview:
As an Finance Intern at VAT Group, you’ll gain hands-on exposure to the full scope of financial operations within a global, high-tech manufacturing environment. This internship offers a unique opportunity to work closely with the Finance, Operations, and Supply Chain teams on critical projects that impact our bottom line. You’ll be directly involved in analyzing and supporting the full P&L (Profit & Loss) statement, from revenue modeling and cost of goods sold (COGS) tracking, to operation expense analysis and margin performance.
You’ll assist with monthly closings, financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting—while also diving deep into product costing, inventory valuation, and manufacturing variance analysis. This role provides a 360° view of how operational and strategic decisions flow through to financial outcomes, helping VAT maintain its position as the global leader in vacuum valve technology.
Key Responsibilities:
· Assist in the preparation and analysis of the full Profit & Loss (P&L) statement
· Assist with monthly financial reporting, variance analysis, and forecast updates
· Help develop and maintain budgeting and forecasting models across departments
· Analyze manufacturing and product costs, assist with standard cost updates, and investigate cost variances
· Collaborate with operations and supply chain teams to track and analyze inventory levels, movements, valuation, and turnover
· Support inventory reconciliations, cycle counts, and slow-moving/obsolete inventory reporting
· Identify and support initiatives to improve processes and increase efficiency in financial reporting, costing, and inventory management workflows
· Assist in the design of tools, reports, or dashboards that streamline decision-making and reduce manual work
· Prepare ad-hoc financial and business analysis for leadership and cross-functional teams
What We're Looking For:
· Pursuing a degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or related field
· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
· Solid proficiency in Microsoft Excel (e.g., pivot tables, VLOOKUP, basic financial modeling)
- Familiarity with Power BI, Excel Power Query, or similar data visualization and reporting tools
- Exposure in automation tools such as Power Automate, UiPath, or Alteryx to streamline reporting and data workflows is a plus
· Basic understanding of cost accounting or manufacturing finance
· Detail-oriented with a hands-on attitude and eagerness to learn
· Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills
