General Summary 

The Controller is responsible for overseeing all financial activities, ensuring accurate financial reporting, managing budgets, and implementing financial controls . This role bridges finance and business unit strategy, ensuring financial sustainability and value creation within the business. 

 

Principle Duties & Responsibilities

1. Financial Planning and Budgeting

  • Develop and manage annual budgets for the business unit.
  • Monitor budget adherence and recommend adjustments as necessary.
  • Support forecasting activities, ensuring alignment with corporate financial goals.

 

2. Financial Reporting and Analysis

  • Prepare periodic financial reports, including variance analysis (budget vs. actual).
  • Analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) and identify trends or risks.
  • Provide detailed cost analysis including project-specific expenses.

 

3. Cost Management

  • Track operational costs.
  • Evaluate the profitability of projects, including return on investment (ROI).
  • Ensure compliance with cost allocation methodologies.

 

4. Strategic Support

  • Collaborate with leadership to evaluate the financial feasibility of new projects or product developments.
  • Provide financial insights including contribution margin analysis to support strategic planning and decision-making.
  • Assess risks and develop mitigation strategies related to financial performance.

 

5. Compliance and Governance

  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations and company policies.
  • Maintain proper documentation and controls for financial transactions.

 

6. Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Provide training and guidance on financial processes to non-financial stakeholders.

 

7. Tools and Systems

  • Use ERP systems, financial software, or analytics tools for efficient reporting and forecasting.
  • Drive process improvement and automation in financial management practices.

 

 

You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.

 

 

Minimum Qualification

  • Bachelor’s Degree/ Master’s degree or professional qualification in Accounting/Finance or related     discipline.
  • Minimum 5 years of finance experience in operations, Business unit or R&D environment in a multinational manufacturing or supply chain environment.
  • Business savy with good knowledge of financial concepts and principles.
  • Strong proficiency in business intelligent, data visulaization tools & excel
  • Effective communication and stakeholder management

 

Preferred Qualification

  • Member of ACCA / CIMA or equivalent
