Supply Chain Sustainability Specialist

Responsibilities:

  • Supplier Engagement Support: Assist in collaborating with suppliers to facilitate the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions within their operations.
  • Performance Monitoring: Track supplier targets and performance metrics related to climate action, and provide constructive feedback and support.
  • Technical Guidance: Offer guidance and share resources to help suppliers set and achieve targets for emissions reduction.
  • Training and Development: Organize webinars and training sessions, and develop user-friendly training materials to educate suppliers on best practices in climate reporting and sustainability.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with internal team members to ensure consistency and progress toward corporate climate goals, while maintaining the ability to work independently when needed.

 

Requirements:

  • Climate Knowledge: Strong understanding of climate change principles, including emissions reduction strategies and global climate action frameworks.
  • Educational Background: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business Management, Economics, Sustainability, Environmental Science, or a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in corporate climate action, stakeholder engagement, or sustainability reporting, preferably within a supply chain context.
  • Project Management: Demonstrated ability to manage tasks effectively, with strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Analytical Skills: Proficiency in data analysis and interpretation, with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and German; ability to convey complex information clearly to diverse audiences.
  • Independence & Teamwork: Ability to work autonomously while contributing effectively as part of a small global team.
  • Adaptability: Willingness to learn and adapt in a rapidly changing sustainability landscape.
  • Travel: Willingness to travel 10-15% of the time to engage with suppliers and attend relevant events.
  • Familiarity with greenhouse gas accounting standards, such as the GHG Protocol.
  • Experience in creating training materials.
